Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (LEAP)

The LEAP Program provides grants to states to assist them in providing need-based grants and community service work-study assistance to eligible postsecondary students. States must administer the program under a single state agency and meet maintenance-of-effort criteria.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this program you must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. be a resident of state you are attending college.
  2. have a minimum GPA of 2.75
  3. are eligible for Federal Pell Grant
  4. are a U.S. Citizen, National or Resident Alien

Grant Amount

The LEAP grant ranges from $200 to $2,000. The amount is determined by the financial aid officer and is governed by the number of applicants and the availability of funds at a particular school.
