Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarship

The Diabetes Scholars Foundation Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and plan to attend an accredited four-year college, university, technical, or trade school.

Award Type: Scholarship

Qualifications:

-Must be a high school senior planning to attend a four year accredited program. Also must be a US citizen or permanent resident.

-Needs to have a diagnosed case of type 1 diabetes and provide information from a doctor stating how they are controlling their diabetes

-Has worked toward diabetes research, awareness, etc.

-High academic standing and participation in extra-curricular activities

-Must complete application and include everything necessary, including personal essay and letter of recommendation.

Amount: $1000-$5000

Number of Recipients: approximately 20

Degree Type: Undergraduate

Student Type: High school seniors who have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes

Category of Study: All

One will specifically be awarded to a student majoring in the arts. It is called the Jay Franke Scholarship.

States: ALL States

-One $1000 award will be given to a student who lives in Michigan. This is called the D.R.E.A.M. Scholarship.

-One $1000 award will be given to a student who lives in Ohio. This is called the Josh Smith Memorial College Scholarship.
