Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship

The Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship was established in 2002 by the Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show, Inc. (MANTS). This scholarship serves to memorialize Mr. Akehurst who served the horticultural industry as one of the founders of MANTS. (More Information).

The state of West Virginia offers four flexible investing options to assist families in planning for the future education of a child or loved one.

The SMART529 College Savings Program is a qualified tuition program offered by the West Virginia College Prepaid Tuition and Savings Program Board of Trustees (“Board of Trustees”).

1) SMART529 WV Direct

SMART529 WV Direct is designed to offer an easy and efficient way for eligible individuals and entities to invest for the costs of a college education. Any qualifying West Virginia resident who is a U.S. citizen or resident alien, or other qualifying entity is eligible to open an account in or to become a designated beneficiary (“Designated Beneficiary”) in SMART529 WV Direct.
